Price Tier Brand Analysis

Overview 

The Price Tier Brand Analysis Dashboard evaluates brand performance across Value, Mid-Tier, and Premium price tiers. It allows cannabis brands, producers, and retail managers to assess pricing strategy, market positioning, and sales contribution relative to competitors. 

 

Price Tiers 

Products are classified into key pricing tiers: 

  • Value: At or below the 25th percentile price for the same month, state, channel, category, and pack size. 
  • Mid-Tier: Between the 25th and 75th percentile price range. 
  • Premium: At or above the 75th percentile price range. 

Other Tiers

  • Low Sample: Products with fewer than 20 SKUs or priced under $1. 
  • Single Price: Products where price percentiles are identical.

  • Pricing Metrics
    • Value Tier ARP: Average Retail Price for Value tier products. 
    • Mid-Tier ARP: Average Retail Price for Mid-Tier products. 
    • Premium ARP: Average Retail Price for Premium products. 
    • Overall ARP: Combined average retail price across tiers. 
  • Sales Metrics
    • Contribution of Sales by State: Breakdown of sales by price tier at the state level. 
    • Contribution of Sales by Category: Sales distribution across Value, Mid-Tier, and Premium tiers within product categories. 
    • Contribution of Sales by Pack Size: Price tier distribution for popular pack sizes. 
    • Brand Evaluation Metrics
    • Brand’s ARP Index vs Market: Measures how a brand’s ARP compares to the market average by price tier. 
    • Brand’s % of Total Products vs Market: Comparison of product distribution in tiers relative to the market. 
    • Brand’s % of Total Sales vs Market: Comparison of sales share by price tier relative to the market. 
  • Product Trends
    • Product Counts by Tier: Number of products classified within Value, Mid-Tier, and Premium tiers over time. 
    • Sales Trends: Retail sales trends across price tiers (month, quarter, or year).
