Click here to access our data platform GreenEdge | BDSA. Sign in to your account.

On the GreenEdge home page, go to the Enhanced Retail Sales drop-down menu located in the green-colored bar near the top of the screen. Used together, these dashboards provide a wholistic story of the cannabis market as well as deep analytics into categories, brands, and products.

Filtering

Filters provide the ability to drill into specific time frames,, markets, categories, segments, etc. Multiple filters can be applied at a single time.

The filter panel exists on the right side of the screen for all dashboards. Here you can filter the entire dataset on;

  • Date
  • State and channel
  • Parent company and brand
  • Category 1-5 of the BDSA hierarchy
  • Item weight and pack size
  • Various product specific attributes

You can change these filters to focus on more specific data.

Click anywhere on the filter to open up the panel.

The date filter gives you multiple options to customize the date range populating the dashboard.

For all other filters, options are multiselect, so click on any desired values.

To return filter to all values, click on the "x" on the filter to remove specified values.

All filters are dependent, so the system knows to only show filter options based on what has already been filtered out above. For example, Ingestibles only has 2 categories tied to it in level 2 of the hierarchy, so when I selected Ingestibles at level 1, I will only see Edibles and Sublinguals as options for level 2.

If you are filtering on the same parameters often, then you can save a bookmark to revisit the filter selections.

You can save as many bookmarks as you want, and if you want to make one a default view, select "manage bookmarks", then the three dots next to the bookmark you want to set as default, then "Set as default view".

  • Once you leave a page, your filters will reset to the default. If no specified bookmark is default, the page will reset to no filters applied.

Drilling

Follow set drill paths to dig deeper into the data. Drilling must be done on a single data point. Another way to describe drilling is "breaking down" a data point into another set of data.

Common uses for drilling, would be to see how the data point breaks down by:

  • How a category breaks down more granularly
  • How brand sales are broken down by the states they operate (available if you subscribe to multiple states)
  • How a category breaks down by brand share
  • What products are driving the most sales for a brand (try this in a table)
  • How a time period breaks down more granularly (if you are viewing a chart plotted monthly, you may be able to break a selected month into days)

In the example below, the chart is viewing the share of categories shown at the level 1 granularity. Drilling into the Ingestibles data point (right click for drill options) and selecting Category Level 3, will show the share of the subcategories (level 3) that make up the Ingestibles share

Hover over the chart/table and right click on the value you want to drill down.

This menu will pop up with all available options to drill down into. For this example, drilling Ingestibles at level 1 to level 2

This chart now is only showing the share of Ingestibles for level 2 categories.

To got back to the previous view, right click again, hover over "Drill up" and select the value the prior value.

  • If drilling multiple times, drill up will show all drill steps to return to.

Generic Vendors and Items

Generic filters allow users to toggle between seeing a full market view and parsing out items that have been masked to protect our retail partner's anonymity.

Including Generic Vendors will provide a representation of the total volume of your selected view. Removing Generic Vendors will provide the cleanest view of BRAND performance.
